1989 Toyota 4Runner Engine removal and repair manual

Remove, repair and installation procedures (when given by the manufacturer) are covered in this section. If the component removal and installation is primarily a unbolt and screw up the process, a simple clamping specification will be suspicious. Removing the carburetor, drain the cooling system. Disconnect the air intake hose. Unplug air cleaner emission control tubes. Remove air cleaner mounting bolt and nut. Remove air cleaner. Remove air cleaner bolt setting. Fuel removal PIPE GALVANIZED, Union, fuel hose and gaskets. Remove vacuum hoses. Remove the pump and screw shaft and arm pump with connecting link. Disconnect connection choke and choke opener connection. Unplug the connection and remove secondary throttle valve diaphragm and gasket. Remove the throttle position switch and bracket. Remove 3 screws the body-to-vacuum passage gasket and screw.
